The answer is 1 2/5 ft²
The area (A) of the rectangle is:
A = w * l
w - width
l - length
We have:
w = 7/8 ft
l = 1 3/5 ft = 1 + 3/5 = 5/5 + 3/5 = (5 + 3)/5 = 8/5 ft
A = w * l
A = 7/8 * 8/5
A = 7/5 = (5+2)/5 = 5/5 + 2/5 = 1 + 2/5 = 1 2/5 ft²
