5 × 70 = 5 × 7 tens = 350

WHY?

1 ten = 10 ones

70 ÷ 10 = 7 

So 7 tens.

Solution:

5 x 70 = 5 x 7 tens

At the blank space 7.

Because 1 ten = 1 x 10

Therefore, 70 = 7 tens

70 as 7 tens

5 x 70 = 5 x 7 tens  = 35 tens

Because 5 x 7 =35

As we know 35 tens = 350

Because 1 tens = 10

Therefore, 35 tens = 350

Thus, 5x70 = 350
