To multiply a negative number by any number, take the opposite, which would be positive, of the negative number and multiply it by the other number!! Then take the opposite of that Negative by Positive Number !
Examples:
-4*-4= 16
-4*4= -16
4*-4= -16

Hope that helps! :)
