So, in other words, the equation is .....

(4x - 10) + 3x = 10

= 7x - 10 = 10

7x = 10 + 10

= 20

x = 20/7

y = 4x - 10

= (4 x 2.85) - 10

= 11.4 - 10

= 1.4.
